The relationship between AI and Judaism—as well as AI and religion more broadly—is a major focus of both my academic and popular work. As of this writing I have published more than twenty articles on the subject, and I lecture on the topic frequently. I am also affiliated with AI and Faith.

I wrote the first broad academic overview of AI in Jewish thought and keynoted the first conference on the subject (you can read an adapted version of my remarks).

I engage on this topic as both a scholar of religion in tech/academic environments and a tech voice in religious environments. I care deeply about this bridging work.

While I keep tabs on all religious thinking on AI, I’ve also proposed that Judaism has unique things to say on AI that may lead it to diverge from other faiths.

My podcast, Belief in the Future, regularly features discussion of AI in religious thought, including a conversation about the Southern Baptist approach, whether Jewish thought supports AI simulations of the dead, and the rise of AI Jesus models.

In addition to my personal research, I also strive to be a field convener by bringing emerging voices on the topic into conversation with one another. An example can be found here.
